@ symbol seizes app

The @ symbol in direct messaging turns my whole screen white in the app. I noticed this when I tried to reply a "mention". I have no way of deleting or typing to that person on the app bc the message "draft" won't clear it.
I've deleted the entire thread and tried to restart a new thread, it still won't clear. (Help). I really don't want to use the site on my phone. Hoping this can be resolved.

this was a bug earlier with the system being down.  it should now be resolved
