DIY spanking loop

So, I have inherited the flexible end of a lovely synthetic cane and want to turn it into a fat spanking loop. The bit I have is perfectly safe and intact, it just came off the handle.

I have a bike handle grip too, but I cannot figure out how to stop the loop wobbling around once inserted into the grip. I know it has to be immovable. It also has to be pretty 😂

Any ideas? Please and thank you in advance ☺️

Would be best to have some pictures you could fill the gap with something like foam or tape but might look fairly ugly. Personally I'd close the loop then tie it together with rope. 👌
