Naughty N'awlins is a five-day adult lifestyle convention in New Orleans, where a few thousand swingers, couples, and open-minded kinksters take over hotels in the French Quarter for parties, play spaces, and classes. It runs every July, and the next one is Naughty N'awlins 2027, July 7 to 11. It's couples-focused, newbie-friendly, and one of the longest-running events of its kind in the US. Here's exactly what it is, who it's for, what happens, what it costs, and the honest tips from people who've been.

Naughty N'awlins 2027 Schedule at a Glance

Wednesday, July 7: Check-in & Opening Night. Arrive, grab your badges, and ease in. Early meet-and-greets and the first theme party set the tone, so it's the night to make your first connections.

Thursday, July 8: Classes & Theme Parties. Daytime seminars (most free with your pass), pool time, then two ballrooms after dark: top-40 on one floor, EDM on the other. Play floor opens around 11 pm.

Friday, July 9: Bourbon Street Takeover. Daytime bar takeovers and the Bourbon Street parade spill the event into the city. Back at the hotels, the dungeon at NOPSI and the play floor run late.

Saturday, July 10: The Big Night. The peak of the week. Fullest crowd, biggest theme party, and the busiest play floor. This is the night everything builds toward, so plan ahead if there's someone you want to connect with.

Sunday, July 11: Wind-Down & Farewell. A slower close. Say your goodbyes, swap contacts, and land softly before checkout.

What Is Naughty N'awlins?

Naughty N'awlins, often shortened to NIN or "Naughty in N'awlins," is a convention-style hotel takeover run by Naughty Events (Bob Hannaford and Tess). It's been going for nearly 30 years and pulls in around 3,000 to 3,500 attendees a year, which makes it one of the biggest events on the lifestyle calendar.

Calling it a "hotel takeover" undersells it. As one attendee put it, "This is NOT your run-of-the-mill hotel takeover. This is a convention of lifestyle enthusiasts who pack three hotels in the French Quarter." Another mentions the scale: "It's actually massive, actually sold out, and actually packed with 3,500 people. It's been thriving for decades, and it shows."

The crowd is a mix of couples and swingers, with plenty of soft swap, full swap, parallel play, exhibitionists, nudists, and simply curious folks in one place. It's mostly heterosexual with a bi-friendly crowd, and it welcomes every age, body type, and background.

When and Where Is Naughty N'awlins 2027?

The next main event is July 7 to 11, 2027, a five-day, four-night takeover of hotels in and around the French Quarter of New Orleans. Its location is a big part of why it works, with everything from the bar takeovers to the Bourbon Street parade within a short walk.

The French Quarter is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, founded by the French in 1718, right on the Mississippi River. It's known for historic Creole and Spanish architecture, wrought-iron balconies, hidden courtyards, and narrow streets, and its heart is Bourbon Street, the famous strip of bars, live music, and late-night nightlife.

The host hotels sit in or beside the Quarter, so the bar takeovers and the Bourbon Street parade are all a short walk from the event. Keep in mind that it's lively and touristy, and can get loud, crowded, and a little gritty around Bourbon. Part of the charm for some, a lot for others.

The Astor Crowne Plaza is the main hotel, with the two big theme-party ballrooms and the main play floor. NOPSI, a few blocks away, is the second hotel and home to the dungeon and additional play spaces. The Saint handles overflow along with other nearby hotels, and gets high marks as a place to stay, a short walk from the action.

Booking at one of the takeover hotels is the move if you can swing it, because so much happens under one roof.

Who Is Naughty N'awlins For?

It's built for couples and the wider lifestyle community. If you're a couple, whether you're full swap, soft swap, parallel play, or just want to be naked around like-minded people, this is squarely your event. Couples of every experience level are welcome, and registration is couple-based.

Single women can attend, though solo attendees do best when they're bi or flexible about play.

Single men cannot register solo. NIN brings in a limited number of vetted single guys for a dedicated "plus-one" room. As one attendee noted from our community, "There are actually guys in the plus-one room that have been vetted by the Naughty group. Your female would feel very safe in that room with or without you." Several couples reported barely noticing single men elsewhere, and rated them "WAY better behaved than single guys at a typical club."

Nudists, exhibitionists, voyeurs, and the curious are all part of the mix. You can watch, join, or just wander. Nobody pushes.

What Actually Happens at Naughty N'awlins?

A lot, across four full days. You will not do all of it, and that's normal.

Each night the Astor runs two theme-party ballrooms with different music, usually a top-40 dance floor and an EDM floor, so you can bounce between them. Some of the best moments happen in the hallways in between, where people actually talk.

The Astor's main play floor has a spread of themed rooms: an exhibitionist room, a bi room, a dark room, a toy room, semi-private rooms with beds, a large group room, and the popular reverse gloryholes. Play tends to happen organically here.

The dungeon at NOPSI is a large BDSM space with professionals on hand to answer questions and help you use the equipment safely. If you're kink-curious but new, this is a friendly place to watch and learn. Want to understand the gear first? FET's BDSM Training School covers the basics of negotiation, consent, and safewords.

Classes and seminars on lifestyle topics, skills, and plenty of practical how-tos run throughout the day. Most classes are free with your pass, with only a handful of paid sessions, so you can learn a ton without spending extra.

NIN also spills into the city with a parade and bar takeovers along Bourbon Street. You get the event and the city, which is a big part of why people prefer it to a cruise. One local couple from FET's community who joined the Friday parade said they "had a blast, gave out beads, and added it to our list to attend."

Daytime pool parties and foam parties round it out. The Astor pool gets praise for a chill, nude-optional vibe, open late.

How Much Does Naughty N'awlins Cost?

The event pass starts at $799 per couple for the full Wednesday-to-Sunday run. That does not include your hotel room, which typically adds somewhere around $700 to $1,200 depending on the hotel and how many nights you stay.

Book early, because passes and the takeover hotels sell out, often months ahead. Don't count on day passes either: in past years they covered only NOPSI and skipped the Astor theme parties and play floor.

Get the full Wednesday-to-Sunday package if you can. Regulars say the Thursday-to-Sunday option means you miss the early connections, since the party is in full swing by Thursday.

Is Naughty N'awlins Good for First-Timers?

Yes, and it might be one of the better places to start. The crowd is famously welcoming, and the wide range of bodies and ages takes the pressure off. Regulars consistently say newbies don't need to worry about their experience level or their body image, because nobody's there to judge and there's no expectation to jump into anything.

The payoff also goes beyond the sex. Plenty of couples describe leaving closer than they arrived, having mingled, laughed, and grown together over the week. Age is no barrier either, with attendees regularly ranging from their 20s up into their 70s, and people with mobility issues in the mix too.

How Do You Make the Most of It?

The couples who love NIN tend to prepare a little, and the most common tip is to stay at a takeover hotel. Being able to duck back to your room between the play floor, the dances, and the pool changes the whole trip.

Use the member portal before you arrive. NIN sets up a members site where you can find couples to meet ahead of time. One couple built a 70-person group chat weeks out, then hosted a couple of meet-and-greets on arrival, and "ended up with a really great group of 6 to 7 couples."

Plan your last night, because dance cards fill up fast. If there's someone you clicked with, don't leave the final evening to chance. And pace the drinking: it's a long event, and plenty of regulars stay fairly sober for the late-night play floor, which opens around 11 pm.

The Honest Bits Worth Knowing

No event is perfect, and NIN regulars are refreshingly candid.

The July heat is real. New Orleans in July is hot and humid. Most of the event is indoors with the AC cranked, but the daytime Bourbon Street parties and outdoor pools can be brutal. Pack light clothing and a hand fan if you feel the heat.

It gets crowded. As the event has grown, the play floor, elevators, and bars can get packed on Friday and Saturday. Some regulars prefer NOPSI or an overflow hotel for newer rooms, so check recent reviews before you book.

Look out for each other in crowds. In the busiest, most packed spaces like the foam party, some attendees have flagged unwanted touching. Stick with your partner or group in the crush, and don't be shy about calling out anyone who ignores a no, and reporting it to event staff or security. The upside of a couples-first event is that most people take consent seriously, and staff and the community back you up.

What About Haunted N'awlins?

Naughty Events also runs a Halloween-season edition, Haunted N'awlins, in October. It's newer and smaller than the July flagship, and it answers a common request from attendees who find July too hot. If cooler weather and a spooky theme sound better than midsummer humidity, keep an eye on the Naughty Events calendar for the next Haunted N'awlins dates.
