EXTERNAL USE ONLY: buy ginger oil. It's a natural, self-warming product, and feels fantastic on sore muscles. Wash hands well before touching eyes, genitals, etc.

Ice a muscle strain to reduce swelling. Take some Motrin or Aleve. Hot tub always feels good to increase circulation to the area.

A hot tub is always nice after a good session. Helps the muscles relax. Though athletes use ice baths but that's a bit too cold for me but have heard it's good.

There are many oils and salves that are decent. I always look for natural cures. Just remember most of the oils are not meant to be used on or near sensitive areas so wash your hands thoroughly or use gloves then still wash.
