Last year, we set out to do something that doesn’t get talked about enough in kink spaces: make BDSM education genuinely useful for people who are just starting to figure out what they want.

The result was Knk Explained — a year-long Instagram series that covered everything from consent and aftercare to spotting a fake Dom, navigating BDSM breakups, and learning to play when you feel shy. No shock content. No vague platitudes. Just practical, shame-free guidance grounded in safe, sane, and consensual practice.

You can read the full story of what we built and how it grew here.

What We Achieved Together

In twelve months, our Instagram grew from 1,000 followers to more than 11,500 — not through virality or controversy, but by showing up consistently with content people actually needed.

Our post on how to spot a fake Dom reached nearly 36,000 accounts and generated 259 saves and 83 shares. Our brat guide reached 25,000+ accounts and was saved 324 times. People didn’t just scroll past — they bookmarked these posts, shared them with partners, and came back to them.

That’s the kind of impact we’re proud of. And it’s been recognised.

Thank You

Knk Explained exists because of the people who saved posts at 2am, shared them with a partner, or left a comment that helped the next person feel less alone. This nomination belongs to the community as much as it does to us.

If you believe kink education should be accessible, honest, and worth bookmarking — go vote.
