So, this thread has made me think about something that is slightly off topic but is linked to the idea of being honest with play partners we find online.

If I am specific in saying that my long-term partner is a male, I will get more unwanted messages from men trying it on, and women have turned me down in the past because of it - the worst combination of bi-phobia and fetishising bisexual women.
If I don't mention their gender, then the whole thing goes much smoother.
Now, because I'm ideally looking for a longer term friends with benefits situation, I don't want to lie about it. However I can see why listing yourself as a lesbian and saying your partner gives consent would be an easier option for others in my position.

Would considering your romantic orientation separate to your sexual orientation help?

Yes, it is too much to ask for in some cases.
I've had messages from men who have deliberately ignored things in my profile about what I'm looking for (literally in capitals on the first line at some points, not any more).
I even had one case where I guy asked me for the exact opposite of what I Read more… wanted (clearly a case of not reading my profile), I replied to say no and he blocked me. He then unblocked me a month later and sent me the same copy and paste message. Turns out when he'd blocked me the site had deleted all the messages between us for him, so he had no idea.
I'm not going to waste my time anymore replying to people who make it obvious they haven't read my profile.

If he's asking you to not delete and rewrite the messages you're sending to him, then he's clearly interested in your genuine thoughts. I do understand the desire to be perfect. However if you were having a verbal conversation you wouldn't be able to control it like that. Just pause and think Read more… before you hit send. If you write something and then later decide you could say it better, then just say that in a separate message. You don't need to delete the first one.
From your doms point of view this is a very basic instruction that you are disobeying, so I can understand his frustrations. However I think it's probably rooted in wanting to do things right, so maybe you need to have a conversation with your dom about why you keep second guessing yourself.

It's very common for people to use sexual submission to unwind when they have pressures elsewhere in life, the Read more… common example being a high pressure job. It would be very un-feminist to deny that any gender might end up in jobs like this. It would also be un-feminist to suggest that how you unwind should be defined by your gender.
I assume the common argument is that a woman submitting sexually is un-feminist. That idea wreaks of hetero-normality. Women don't just have to be having sex with men. Can only lesbians enjoy submissive sex and still be comfortable in their feminism? What about bisexual women? Should they have to change what they enjoy sexually depending on the gender of their partner? I certainly couldn't even if I tried!
Unless feminism is intersectional then it isn't really feminism, in my book.
